Transportation Policy
1 Drivers
Barney Family Daycare Inc. is committed to provide safe transportation to families upon their requests.
All drivers have clean police reports and First-Aid training.
Drivers are all either full-time employees of Barney Family Daycare Inc. or have contractual agreements which obligates them to follow all procedures and guidelines provided to them by the daycare.
2 School Drop-off/Pick-up
We currently do not have before/after school programs. In case of an emergency or on occasional circumstances, we might be able to assist our clients, if we are within our limits [number of children allowed, based on our multi-age license], and have written agreement with requesting parents.
Registration form must be filled and any medical and allergy information needs to be shared.
If either the children or the transportation vehicle is involved in an accident or incident, the driver will immediately contact the daycare to deploy appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of all passengers.
In case of unforeseen medical emergencies, the driver might have to drive all the children to safety, or to any destination recommended by 9-1-1 dispatcher. In any case, the daycare will be informed as soon as it is safe for all passengers.
4 Delays
In case of delays, the daycare will try contacting the parents and school. If transportation is not possible on an occasion, the daycare will reimburse the families a maximum of $50 per child to cover the cost for an alternative transportation, provided or permitted in writing, by the parents.

- For safety reasons, we can only pickup/drop off students who are allowed to wait for the driver at “daycare designated parking spaces” provided by the schools, because care providers are not allowed to leave the car on schools' property, on a regular basis.
- Parents must inform the school about their children’s daycare transportation services, and provide them with the daycare’s contact information. In cases like early or late dismissal, sickness and injury, field trips, etc., it is the parents’ responsibility to inform the daycare when and where to pick-up the children.
- Drivers will arrive at pick-up locations a minimum of 5 minutes before the release time, and will stay for a maximum of 10 minutes for the children to go to the car. If children don’t show up, driver(s) will try to contact the parents, while starting a search for the child. This search may include going to the school’s office, playground or other common areas. After 10 minutes of search, if the location of the child is still unknown, the daycare will contact the authorities (e.g.: police) and will follow guidelines given to them by those authorities.
- The daycare reserves the right to immediately end a child’s enrollment, if parents fail to provide information about the children’s whereabouts, or respond inappropriately to any inquiries in regards to the enrolled children that might affect the safety of other children and staff, in addition to the child itself.
- Transportation is mostly provided by Brad Soltani. Please contact him at 604-219-0122 for correspondence.
- Eating and drinking is not permitted in the car.
- Parents must promptly respond to any calls or messages from the daycare. These calls may be crucial to ensure children’s safety and well-being.
